Founded by members of the Imperial Russian Ballet in 1927, the Russian Tea Room opened to ex patriots and later became famous as a gathering place for celebrities and the New York's elite. In 1996 New York businessman Warner LeRoy purchased the restaurant and he closed it. LeRoy reopened The Russian Tea Room four years later after a $36 million dollar renovation. His vision exquisitely implemented continues to impress diners and visitors from across the world.
